Furthermore, Gokyo Cho La Pass Trekking begins from Lukla, after a 20 to 25 minute mountain flight to Lukla, we followed the Dudhkosi Valley to Namche Bazaar. The trail to Gokyo ascends gradually through the valley, weaving through patches of birch and rhododendron woods, often revealing the slippery musk deer. Through minor yak-brushing settlements, we reach the Gokyo lakes, where we climb Gokyo Peak (5,360 m) and staggering summit mountain landscapes incorporating Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyo, and many more. The Gokyo Lake, located near the Ngozumpa glacier, is a breathtaking sight, and the fifth lake offers a panoramic view of Mt. Everest. After the Cho La pass (5,420 m), we arrive at Dzongla. Amadablam and Taweche have wonderful points of view.
After the Zhongla rising, we proceed towards Gorakshep and move to Kala Pahtar (5,555 m), from where we revel in a magnificent up-close perspective of Everest. Then visit Mt. Everest Base Camp (EBC) at 5,360 meters with Khumbu icefall and glaciers. Tengboche is a beautiful place with a fascinating cloister where we stop and enjoy the breathtaking view, which includes expansive views of Everest, Amadablam (6,856 m), Kantega (6,809 m), Kwangde (6,194 m), Nuptse (7,879 m), Lhotse (8,511 m), and many other trekking peaks of the Khumbu Himalaya range. *Important Note: Lukla's flight
I would like to inform you that the Lukla flights might be redirected from Kathmandu Airport to Manthali Airport in Ramechhap during the Trekking peak season (spring and autumn). So, during October, November, and April, May operated all the flights from Ramechhap too. I will do my best to get a direct flight to Lukla from Kathmandu; if not any flight, then there is not only option.
During the peak trekking season, Lukla flights are redirected from Kathmandu Airport to Manthali Airport in Ramechhap due to weather conditions and air traffic congestion. Travelers must start their journey at 11:00 PM to catch the next day's morning flight or can travel to Ramechhap a day in advance by hiring a private car or jeep and staying overnight at Manthali, Ramechhap. In the morning, there's no regular public jeep service, so passengers must arrange a shared jeep or bus. All sharing transportation costs are included in the overall cost. Choosing a private car for comfort incurs additional costs. The journey from Kathmandu to Manthali airport at Ramechhap takes 6 to 7 hours. Flight delays of one hour to several days may occur due to weather and options include waiting for improved conditions or opting for alternative transportation like a Jeep to Salleri/Kharikhola/Thamdanda or changing the destination. There is another option services to fly by helicopter in Lukla with about an additional USD 700 to 800 per person.
**Note Flight delay: I would like to advise you, to put a couple of days extra to get back to Kathmandu, at least one day, if in case of delay your flight (Lukla to Kathmandu) is due to weather conditions. The High Himalayas weather is not predictable, it might change at times.
