What are the meals likes on the trek? Do you stay in tea houses on the trek?

Well, you will provide Tea House entire trip. We will provide private twin bed Room. We will provide three meals times (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) each day. Every Tea House has MENU; so you can choose from the menu, whatever you like to have. Normally, you can get more than 50 Items in the menu. Like: Pizza, Macaroni, Models, rice, soup, bread, MOMO (dumpling), Sizzler, Stake, etc. item. This is mixed of different continual food, Nepali (Dalbhat), Indian, Chinese, continual, American, franc, etc.
Our Guide will check the food and try to serve you best and fresh food.

Will our guide and porter speak fluent English?

As we are trekking tour agency, we have fluent English speaking well experience Guide, most are from local area. To be Guide, they need to 3 months Trekking Guide training from Nepal Government. They need to study and practical about Culture, History, sociology, Anthropology, tourism, hospitability, Language, hiking, climbing, environment, etc. I mean they are experienced for the any trekking in Nepal.

I do not want to spend last few nights in Ktm., Can I use this for trekking?

I am agreeing with you. I would be best to spent more days in the mountain then Kathmandu. But While organizing restricted area special permits (Upper Mustang, Manaslu, Dolpo,Narphu, Simikot etc.) the immigration office of Kathmandu asking your Nepal visa which must be validate entire trip and original passport with four copies of PP Size pictures each of you. To make those permits, it takes almost whole one day to visit different office. So, it would be best to start the trip spent after few nights at Kathmandu. But for the others trekking area (Annapurna, Langtang and Everest) you can start the trip at same day of your arrival or next day.

Can you please tell me about the accommodations on the trek? Tea houses or?

Well, we provide you Tea House accommodation entire trek with twin bed sharing basicly. Where you can get Hot and Cold Shower. And can have meal at tea house. We are pleased to provide to you private room or attached bath room as well according to your requirement.

Could you roughly outline the day-to-day trekking schedule, e.g., what time do we wake up, what time do we break for meals, etc.?

Normally, you will start the trip 7:00 to 7:30 AM every day and you will stop for the lunch at tea house after two and half to 3 hours walking or per as available following day trail and another 2 to 3 hours trips for you’re a day destination. You will stay overnight at Tea House or Home stay.

What is your medical evacuation procedure?

Yes this is important questions. Regarding the medical and evacuation; I wish you do not need be use this, if in case you need it, we can procession for you, we are anytime ready for your services. Just you need to insured up to 5,500 meters.

Is it possible to contact my family and friends whilst on the trek? Would I need specialist telecommunication equipment?

Our Guide have the cell phone, most of the trekking route has access of Mobile. If not, then you can use landline Telephone, every village have Telephone services. We often communicate with our Guide about your trip. If you wish to update your massage to you family and relative, we are happy to assist you. In some village you can use internet services also.

Can we make more rest days or slightly shorter trekking on some days (2-4 hours)? How much more would that extend our trip?

Thank you very much for your questions. Whatever I provided itinerary, this is the usual itinerary what most of the trekker do. But if would you like to entrance some days for the rest and enjoy, about 3 days will be good enough for your requirements. As you are in Nepal for holiday, you can make shorter and longer your trip as you wish.

Can I know if there is any charge for the WIFI service and electricity usage at the teahouse?

Well, most of the place, there are electricity by mini hydro power. If there is not, most of the teahouse has the solar panel, where you can charge battery; they will take some money per hour basic. But sometime you need multi pen to charge battery. For this you can buy in Kathmandu. And I got latest update; few places have WIFI services (Everest Region, Annapurna and Manaslu) also now days.

For the hot water shower and drinking water, do I need to pay for it?

Regarding the drinking water; most of the places you can buy bottle of mineral water, but for the environment concern, I would like suggest you use water purification methods; either using water purification drugs or filter machine and Ultraviolet rage (Stair Pen). This will help to reduce the environment pollution.

How much is buying a sim card with internet connection for a period of two weeks?

Well, now a day you can buy Nepali SIM Card very easily, for this you need to fill up the form and Photo copy of your passport and PP size two pictures. They will charge NPR. 200 to 500. I will assist you to buy this.

Will we have a Sherpa?

As we are Nepal base trekking company; mostly we provide local Guide and porter, in order to give actual information for our clients. So, in your trip there will be Sherpa also.

What is the best foot wears for this trek? Do people do it in regular running shoes ever?

Thank you very much for your questions, during the trek would be best to wear Hiking Boots rather than running shoes, which will good for the feet and ankle support. And it could be snowing or need to walk on snow. So, batter to bring trekking boot with water proof.

Do you meet us at the airport in Kathmandu? We have never been to Kathmandu, so are worried we will get lost looking for your office.

Yes! Some of my assistant or I will come to the airport, and then you will be transfer to the hotel located at Tamel. Yes, some of my assistant or I will come to the airport to pick up to the hotel. We will be in airport arrival gate holding your name plate (e.g. MARY JUDE) with Nepal Mother House Treks. Please keep on eyes around among the bunch of people. If in case your flight going to be change or delay at last minuties then your pervious time, kindly inform us as soon as possible early.

Can I leave a bag in Kathmandu that I need for my travels afterwards but not for the trek?

You can store stuff which is no need for the trekking either at our Office or in Hotel without any fee.

Accommodation on trek - will our Guide walk ahead and prebook this for us?

As my motto, give quality service with the affordable price, will pre-book all accommodation on the trip. But it depends on condition, sometime our guide make booking by cell phone or if not access of telephone we need to book at same day. We will do our best to provide you best services.

Emergencies - what happens if we have an accident or have an emergency? We do have insurance. Will your office and guide help to organize evacuation or medical help? Do the guides have a mobile phone?

Thank you very much for question, this is happening unexpectedly, I wise your entire trip try to make enjoyable and lifetime unforgettable. You won’t be facing this kind of situation. If incase happen this condition, I need your insurance and evacuation Policy Number paper, except our Guide and other stuff (they are already insured by our company.). It will be processing as soon as possible. Anyway, I will be contacting with our Guide times to again on his cell phone.

Insurance - are your guides and porters insured? What happens if they have an accident/emergency during the trek?

This is most important question, as we are provincial Trekking Agency, all our Guide and staff has insurance and evacuation service. We do not wish this kind of situation, if unexpectedly happen, In this case we have alternative option; arrangements other staff on the way and continue to your destination. Or make decision accordingly your view. Sometime, if anyone is not well, all teams might be paralyzing also, it depends on trekking route and following day’s weather circumstance. I mean, some time you might need to be giving off your rest of the trip also. Clothing - do your guides and porters have proper clothing for this trek? Or do we need to provide this?

Our Guide and Porter are well equipped (boats, jackets, other things) for the trekking, probably not good equipotent as yours. It is not necessity provide them, but if would you like to offer them, they are pleased with you.

How much weight of luggage each can we bring on the trek?

Well, Normally teahouse trekking porter carry an average 20 to 25 kg, if we follow rules and regulation. So, please try to make bag 20 to 25 KG between both of you together. The porter will be happy, if you can make less weight where as possible.

How much capacity of water bottles should we have? 4 liters? Or would 2 be ok?

This is most important question. Except few days, most of the time you can get drinking water entire trail (can buy or filter yourself) but self-purification methods will be best regarding environment issues. So, please bring with you purification machine or some other drugs. And normally you need minimum 3 litter’s water each day, so considering this, bring water bottle about 4 litters each of you.

Do we need waterproof clothes? Recommend waterproof trousers?

Normally, this is dry season in Nepal. But due to unpredictable weather of Himalayan, it will be best bringing Water proof clothes or trousers and do not forget to bring bag cover or any materials to avoid get wet.
