Everest Base Camp Track embarks Tenzing Hillary Airport at Luka after a short scenic flight from the capital city Kathmandu and follows the Bank of Dudha Koshi River with charming Sherpa settlements, Buddhist Chhorten, Wall painting and the towering peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru before getting in Namche Bazaar. The trail ascends steeply to the Namche Bazaar after cross-Hillary suspension bridge at the confluence of Dhudha Koshi and Bhote Koshi. Namche Bazaar (Weekly market fair Every Saturday, Ancient trading Hub & Gateway of Mt. Everest) itself is amazing place to pass a day easily visit the Sherpa Museum, Sagarmatha Tourist information Center, monastery and hang around the town, but for good acclimatization propose, visit the Everest view hotel with panoramic view and charming Khumjung Village (Yeti Scalp) and then back to Namche through the Syangboche Airport. Afterward, heading to Everest Base Camp through the Buddhist sacred site Tengboche (name as Dawa Choling Gomba, the largest monastery of Khumbu), Pangboche (last settlement for the EBC), Dingbuche with significant Himalayan vista. During the acclimatization day at Dingboche, will visit Nangkartshang Peak (5,615m) with wonderful view of the 4th highest mountain in the world Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), 5th highest mountain in the world Mt. Makalu (8,485m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m) the sixth-highest mountain in the world and Island Peak (6,189m), Amadablam (6,812m), Kangtega (6,782m), Thamserku (6,623m), Taboche (6,542m), Cholatse (6,440m) etc. After two days walk from Dinboche we will visit the Mt. Everest Base Camp (5,360m) via Lobuche, Gorakshep and climb to most popular viewpoint Kala Patthar (5,600m) for the best scenery of Mt. Everest, Nuptse (7,861m), Pumori (7,161m) at stone throwing distance. Khumbu Glacier, Icefall, Everest Base Camp itself is a key attraction of EBC Track and Kalapathar offers wonderful snow-capped Mountain View surrounded by you. Trip Note

*Notice on Kathmandu to Lukla Flight Issue:

It is informed that the Government of Nepal has announced Lukla flight from Manthali, Ramechhap due to heavy air traffic on Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at Kathmandu, the flight to Lukla will conduct from Ramechhap in anticipation of further notice. Ramechhap is located 139 km East-North from Kathmandu with approximately 4 to 5 hours drive from Kathmandu.

As alternatively, if you would like to direct flight from Kathmandu to Luka, then there are Helicopter flight which can be made on 5 passenger basis with additional 500 US$ per person for one way to change your airplane flights to the helicopter. We will do our best coordinate with the airline to make groups at the airport for the helicopter flight, but we can’t give guarantee it. Fly to Lukla from Manathali airport, Ramechhap is almost always guaranteed unless sometime the flight is delayed or canceled due to not favorable weather at Lukla.

Travelers are suggested to inform us of the chosen alternatives for the flights to/from Lukla affected due to possible delays or interruptions. For more details please go through the Lukla Flight from Ramechhap.

**Note: Some time we could face problem of internal flights to/from Lukla delayed by few hours or cancelled for a day because of bad weather. It is happen very rarely, but it could even in best trekking season also as you know how climate change is effecting our globe. Therefore, we always recommend you to add one supplement night in Kathmandu after your base camp trek if possible (just for incase). If everything runs smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, rafting, shopping, as you wish in those additional day overnight at hotel.

Few things are worth arranging while you are at home. Please note down these list details before your departure, this tips will help to make your trip enjoyable:

  • Read travel advice, inform yourself before travelling and get advice locally when you arrive.
  • Make sure your passport valid date during your travel and consult about visa processing.

  • Never step over anyone feet/legs, and pull in your own legs when somebody wants to pass.
  • Never touch anybody with your feet, also never point in a direction using your feet. The feet are considered the most impure parts of the body.
  • When entering a house, somebody's kitchen, temple or monastery take off your shoes.
  • As a woman you should always be dressed avoiding provocation, so keep shoulders and legs covered.
  • It is very polite to give and accept with your right hand, and even more so when you use your left hand for supporting the elbow of your right hand.
  • When in doubt how to behave in certain situations; keep a low profile, do not shout and keep your dignity.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines.
  • Beef is prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhists. No female animal is killed for food.
  • You may not be allowed entry to the inner sanctuaries of temples and Stupas.
  • You may be interested to take snaps of temples, Stupas and monuments. Generally temples, Stupas and monuments are permitted to be photographed, but it is better to have permission before using your cameras.
