The Chadragiri Range edges along the south-eastern part of Kathmandu Valley an elevation of 2275m. There are so many interesting stories about the Chandra Giri Hill. Legend has it that this summit was once so rich in Chandan (Sandalwood) trees that Goddess Parvati herself, the mythical mother of all living beings, rummaged around its foothills to look for them. In fact, some scholars believe that the name Chandragiri was derived from the original Chandan- Giri, Giri Meaning Mountain in Sanskrit - although, considering the exploits of Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher, it might be equally tempting to attribute the name to him.

Chandeagiri Hike is an exotic vacation for those who are extremely interested to see the varieties of birds at the closest distance from Kathmandu Valley. Here you can see Red-vented Bulbul, Great Egret, Grey Wagtail, House Crow, House Sparrow, Little Egret, Oriental Turtle Dove, Spotted Dove, Steppe Eagle, Kingfishers, Common Myna, Indian Pond Heron, Tit and so many others. Many Medical plants of Nepal have been found in the Chandragiri jungle sub-tropical zone (1,000-2275 m). This Magic Shangri-La of Nepal offers the scenic ecstasy of the Kathmandu valley and unparalleled sunrises. Chandragiri hill is the warm home of Leopards and Barking deer, Jackal, Bears and red cats, and other types of wild animals which is unbelievable. Chandragiri Hiking is a good first trip near Kathmandu which we offer to our clients who are not much more interested to see city life but want to see the real village life of Nepal within a short duration.
