The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) successfully organized two events last year to promote adventure tourism in Nepal and convey the message that Nepal is completely safe after the earthquake. The Langtang International Marathon 2018 will also take place on April 25th, 2018. There will be two category events, one for men and one for women.

The Rasuwa-Nuwakot Tourism Society, which is made up of tourism entrepreneurs from Rasuwa and Nuwakot, is putting on a trail running competition from Kyangjin Gompa (Rasuwa) to Syafrubensi on June 7, 2025. The Government of Nepal, Bagmati Province, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Nepal Tourism Board are all helping to pay for it. Awards and Prizes:
- First Place (Male/Female): NPR 100,000 (One Lakh) in cash and a medal or certificate
- Second place gets a cash reward of NPR 75,000 (seventy-five thousand).
- 3rd Place: NPR 50,000 (Fifty Thousand) in cash plus a medal or certificate
- 4th Place: NPR 25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand) in cash and a medal or certificate
- 5th Place: NPR 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand) in cash and a medal or certificate

The marathon will begin at Kyanjin Gompa, an elevation of 3,910 meters, and conclude in Syabrubensi (1,440 m), covering about 42.195 km in the Himalayas, through the most popular trekking route of Langtang Valley, through the national park and villages: Kyanjin Gomba, Godha Tabela, Lama Hotel, Rimche, Sherpagaon, Khangjim, and Syabrubensi.
Kyanjin Gompa is situated at an altitude of 3,910 meters above sea level, from which you can see breathtaking, spectacular views of the Langtang Himal ranges. Kyanjin Gompa is named after the religious Buddhist monastery, “Kyanjin Monastery.” This site is the destination for the Langtang Valley short trip, which can last 8 days or more.
The third TAAN International Langtang Marathon 2018 has the purpose of extending Nepal as an international destination for sports and adventure activities. It aims to endorse Nepal, with Langtang in particular, as one of the main destinations for adventure tourism among both international and domestic tourists.
This marathon will draw attention around the world to conserving the Himalayan biodiversity and protecting rare and elusive species like the red panda.
