Annapurna Short Trekking goes through the different villages and rhododendron forests beneath the majestic Himalayan scenery. Day 01 : Drive Pokhara to Sudame (1160m) – 3 to 4 hours and trek to Ghorepani (2840m) – 6 to 7 hours The first day trek starts at Sudame after 3 to 4 hours driving by private/Public vehicle from Pokhara. From Nayapul (1,010m) the road goes along the banks of the Modi Khola and large village that has many shops and teahouses. The main inhabitants of this village are Gurung, Magar and Thakali. Then, the trail continues following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola through villages till Sudame (1160m) and climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille (1,495m). After the short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga (1570m). Today’s walk offers a short and comparatively easy day, during the journey allowing us to get the full experience of trekking in Nepal. After lunch, we begin our journey with a steep climb to large Magar village at Ulleri (2,070m). Then the trail continues to ascend more gently, through dense forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti (2250m). Occasionally, we can see Lonmgur (long tail black mouth Monkey) jumping in the trees. Then we trek towards Nangethanti (2,460m), after an hour walk we arrive at Ghorepani (2840m). Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 02 : Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) - 45 minutes to Tadapani (2520m) – 4 to 5 hoursWe will hike about 45 minutes up to Poon Hill (3210m) early in the morning. This viewpoint provides an unobstructed and beautiful view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas with panoramic view giants Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna (8,091m), Machhapuchere, Nilgiri, Hiuchuli, South Annapurna etc. Additionally we can see a network of other peaks, slowly beginning to appear like magic before our eyes. We come back to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast and start walking to Tadapani. Here the trail climbs alongside ridges with pine and rhododendron forests to the Deurali and then descends through beautiful waterfalls, streams, and dense forest to Banthati. The streams have some clear pools alongside the trail which finally climbs up to the final destination Tadapani meaning ‘hot water.’ This is the water supply for a village far away.

Day 03 : Trek Tadapani to Kimche (1640m) via Ghaundrung – 4 to 5 hours, Drive to Pokhara (950m) – 2 to 3 hours, then your own destination.Today we will descend steeply through the dense forests with breathtaking panorama views of the Ghaundrung village, inhabited by Gurung people. If you wake up early in the morning you can catch some excellent sunrises above the mountains. We will stay overnight here so you’ll have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office, museum, and picturesque ancient Gurung village, the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal. Then 2 to 3 hours walk to Khimche, then drive 2 to 3 hours by jeep or bus followed by a ride back to Pokhara, a peaceful lakeside city harboring a unique setting of tropical climate and vegetation with the dramatic backdrop of the Himalayas. Stay overnight at Pokhara Hotel.

Few things are worth arranging while you are at home. Please note down these list details before your departure, this tips will help to make your trip enjoyable:

  • Read travel advice, inform yourself before travelling and get advice locally when you arrive.
  • Make sure your passport valid date during your travel and consult about visa processing.
  • Estimate your budget and fixed holiday period then chose suitable destination.

  • Batter to know at list few Nepali words while traveling in Nepal.
  • Make reservations with advance payment, especially during peak season, for trip, accommodations and local guides.
  • Call your bank for debit- and credit-card to let them know about fees and your travel destination. Get your bank’s emergency phone number if you have a problem.
  • Visit the doctor for your health report and take medicine and vaccine accordingly.
  • Remember, the local laws apply to you as a visitor and it is your responsibility to follow them.
  • Be sensitive to local customs, traditions and practices as your behavior may be seen as improper, hostile or even illegal.
  • Never step over anyone feet/legs, and pull in your own legs when somebody wants to pass.
  • Never touch anybody with your feet, also never point in a direction using your feet. The feet are considered the most impure parts of the body.
  • When entering a house, somebody's kitchen, temple or monastery take off your shoes.
  • As a woman you should always be dressed avoiding provocation, so keep shoulders and legs covered.
  • It is very polite to give and accept with your right hand, and even more so when you use your left hand for supporting the elbow of your right hand.
  • When in doubt how to behave in certain situations; keep a low profile, do not shout and keep your dignity.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines.
  • Beef is prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhists. No female animal is killed for food.
  • You may not be allowed entry to the inner sanctuaries of temples and Stupas.
  • You may be interested to take snaps of temples, Stupas and monuments. Generally temples, Stupas and monuments are permitted to be photographed, but it is better to have permission before using your cameras.
