Conveniently close to Kathmandu, Shivapuri is the latest national park of Nepal. It is situated on the northern rim of the Kathmandu valley; the streams that emanate from here provide fresh drinking water for a major portion of the valleys inhabitants. This is just 25 kilometers from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu; Shivapuri National Park is one of the few national parks within a nation's capital. Mostly, the trek goes through undisturbed thick oak forest; if you are lucky you may come across spotted dear, monkeys and jackals on the trail.  During whole year this trek is good for bird watching routes as about 200 different species of birds make this region their permanent home.  Shivapuri Nagarkot Short and Easy Trek beginning at the holy shrine of Buddhanilkantha (sleeping Vishnu) and we ascend the Shivapuri hill (2729m) passing a renowned Buddhist monastery and enjoy a panoramic view including Mt. Everest in the east and Annapurna Range west in a clear day and Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Mt. Dorjeelakpa, Mt. Shisapangma, and Mt. Gaurishankar and the mighty Manaslu. Again you have amazing views when in Chisapani and Nagarkot, a popular view point for sunrise and sunset and beautiful river scenery. The trail goes through the typical Villages while walking from Nagarkot to Changunarayan (1541 m), said to be the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then we take private car / bus for a sightseeing tour in Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu.Upon arrival at international airport meet assist and transfer to the Hotel (star category, very nice and centrally located at Thamel), take rest and free at afternoon.

Day 02 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing (1350m) Our Tour Guide led you explore around Kathmandu valley for the sight seen. Have explore historical and spiritual attractions; including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square; the House of Living Goddess “Kumari” and Kasthamandup temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, Big bell-Big drams, Erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc., Bouddhanath; one of the largest Stupas in Nepal, Swayambhunath; situated on top of the hill knows as the Monkey Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa in the world, which has been registered in UNICECO heritage side. Pasupatinath; Hindus holy place, Sadhus and pilgrims bathing at occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats, located on the holy Bagmati river. Finally we have sightseeing beautiful Patan Durbar squares; the Krisna Temple has build just by stone with incredible crafts, Patan king’s palace, Golden temple and much more. Day 03 : Drive Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha & Trek to Shivapuri (2732m) -5 to 6 hours The Shivapuri, Nagarkot Trek start drive to Budhanilakantha. This is a less crowded and more pristine destination which provides excellent mountains view of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and the Annapurna. It offers nature beauties, unique culture, diverse flora and fauna in the Shivapuri National Park. This is a way for anyone wishing to truly get away from the distractions of urban life, it is a perfect retreat. Lunch will be served at the ground of Monastery just above trekking start point from where nice Kathmandu Valley View can be seen in a clear day. After lunch, you will further trek up to the top of Shivapuri Hill for overnight stay at Teahouse / tented camp. The camp is at meadow nearby Bagdour, which is source of Bagmati Holy River.

Day 04 : Trek Shivapuri to Chisapani (2156m) -5 to 6 hours Today you will have to prepare early morning for today’s long walk trail around 7/8 hours. We start your trek on plain trail about 1 hour, the mountains greetings from you northern side (left side) you and hike slowly to gain the height. On the top of hill the fascinating sight welcoming us and you will have your lunch here. From here the forest and 3 hours flat trail lead to you Chisapani trek.

Day 05 : Trek Chisapani to Nagarkot (2156 m) -6 to 7 hours After having breakfast the trail lead us to Nagarkot (2156 m) a long day hike with Nepalese cultural village life style and beautiful mountain views. After reaching Nagarkot enjoy the sunset view and its offer magnificent & panoramic views of many Himalayan ranges including the 8,848 meters top of the world Mt. Everest. Among many incredible beauties of Nagarkot Sunrise & Sunset views over mountains are one of the best. Stay overnight at hotel in Nagarkot.

Day 06 : Nagarkot to Chngunarayan (1541m) -3 to 4 hours & drive to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur -2 hours Trek from Nagarkot to Changunarayan which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours and drive from Changunarayan to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur Durbar Square, it takes 2 hours and 45 munities explore around Durbar complex. The most popular walk leads down from Nagarkot along a ridge to the temple of Changu Narayan-with views of Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur to the left. Changunarayan is situated at the end of a long ridge which runs well into the valley, it is an oldest temple in Valley said to have been built in 323 AD by King Hari Datta Varma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. There are still more remark site; the one of the oldest cities in Kathmandu valley “Bhaktapur” is known as Living Museum. Where, old brick paved enclave of old Royal palace, Nyathapola Temple, Datatriya temple exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal.

Day 07 : Final Departure to your Destination In this pleasant day you may have full day at leisure either relax at hotel or explore the around Thamel. Today is day of ending your journey, so Nepal Mother House Treks will hand over you Trip Certificate, Trekking Permit and TIMS Card for memory of Nepal trip. Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until departure flight/drive. Our assist will be transfer to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.

  • When in doubt how to behave in certain situations; keep a low profile, do not shout and keep your dignity.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines.
  • Beef is prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhists. No female animal is killed for food.
  • You may not be allowed entry to the inner sanctuaries of temples and Stupas.
  • You may be interested to take snaps of temples, Stupas and monuments. Generally temples, Stupas and monuments are permitted to be photographed, but it is better to have permission before using your cameras.
