Rupina La pass is off the beaten track in lower Manaslu, the highest elevation of this trip is 4,720 meters at Rupina La. This is adventure trip itself with combine most popular Larkya la pass (5,160m). It is mixture of mountain scenery, natural beauty, and unique cultural with historical dignity. Rupina La pass trekking was officially opened for trekkers since 1991.

Rupina La pass becoming new popular destination after motor able road was built at Annapurna. The trip starts at Baluwa about ten hour’s drive from Kathmandu through Trishuli river bank.  Or drive 144 km Kathmandu to historical Gorkha, headquarters of Gorkha district.  Then you will walk to the Barpak Village; where the late VC Capt. Gaje Ghale was born. He got Victoria Cross medal during Second World War at Barma. During dry season the road drive able until Barpak also. The epicenter of devastating Earth quick on 25-april-2015 was at Barpak. Where less than 10 of 1200 houses were remains stand by its hitting.  It is idle trip for every visitor such as student, researchers, cultures seekers and mountains lovers. Mostly this trip can do as tea house basic but from Barpak village to until Nyak is isolated at high Himalaya. There is not any village for shelter and food, so you need to do full tended organize trip for the five to six nights. The trail goes lap of the Baudha Himal (6,672m), through the Jarang, Zokbatang, Goma and Nyak at Manaslu circuit main trail via Rupinala Pass (4720m). At further you have mighty scenery of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), Peak 27 (6879m), Himal Chuli (7893m), Ganesh Himal etc.

After Nyak you may continue to the Manaslu Circuit through the Ghap, Namrung, Lho, Samagaun, Samdo, Dharmashala, Larke Pass, Bhimtang catch the bus to Kathmandu from Dharapani. Or you may end trip at Arughat Bazaar Gorkha reverse some part of Manaslu trekking Main trail; Philim, Tatopani, Machhakhola, Soti. Day 03:Drive Kathmandu – Baluwa (755m), 9-10 hrs public bus drive.

Day 04:Trek Baluwa – Barpak (1950 m), 5-6 hrs

Day 05:Trek Barpak – Gaikharka (3217m), 6-7 hrs

Day 06:Trek Gaikharka – Bhaisi Kharka (2960m), 6-7 hrs

Day 07:Trek Bhaisi Kharka - Rupi Na la phedi(3760m), 5-6 hrs

Day 17:Trek Dharamsala - Larkya la (5100m) - Bimthang (3720m) 8-9 hrs

Day 19:Trek Bimthang – Tilje (2360m) 6-7 hrs

Day 20:Trek Tilje to Dharapani (2130m) - 1 ½ to 2 hours and drive to Beshisahar 3 to 4 hours. Again drive back to Kathmandu -6 to 7 hours

Few things are worth arranging while you are at home. Please note down these list details before your departure, this tips will help to make your trip enjoyable:

  • Never touch anybody with your feet, also never point in a direction using your feet. The feet are considered the most impure parts of the body.
  • When entering a house, somebody's kitchen, temple or monastery take off your shoes.
  • As a woman you should always be dressed avoiding provocation, so keep shoulders and legs covered.
  • It is very polite to give and accept with your right hand, and even more so when you use your left hand for supporting the elbow of your right hand.
  • When in doubt how to behave in certain situations; keep a low profile, do not shout and keep your dignity.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines.
  • Beef is prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhists. No female animal is killed for food.
  • You may not be allowed entry to the inner sanctuaries of temples and Stupas.
  • You may be interested to take snaps of temples, Stupas and monuments. Generally temples, Stupas and monuments are permitted to be photographed, but it is better to have permission before using your cameras.
